"Bucky Lamp" is a lamp designed by Studio Lagranja from Barcelona as a tribute to Richard "Bucky" Buckminster Fuller, one of the tensegrity fathers. The lamp is based on a simple tensegrity module, where cables provide stability and energy while struts provide light. Here is the description of the lamp given by Studio Lagranja:
Bucky is a minimal yet surprisingly rigid composition, the only definition being the soft touch cable which is pulled tight, giving it shape and structure. As well as carrying the electric current, the wire also provides support for the three blown glass rods, hanging like an acrobat from a rope.

Although the concept of using some kind of lights (usually LED) in tensegrity structures is not completely new, these lamps look really nice and interesting; a perfect piece of a contemporary design.
